Pull Buoy

A pull buoy is a great training device for focusing on the catch, hand entry, and elbow. It also helps a swimmer focus their attention on streamlines, breakouts and pushing off the wall. A pull buoy goes between the legs of a swimmer. It prevents the person from kicking. This training device is used to focus only on swimmers arms, which works on upper body strength. It also gives the legs a heavy feeling in the water, which better positions it. A swimmers head position when using this, is looking down and just slightly forward.
